寫英文簡歷的建議和注意事項
英文語法和句式上的問題略過，那屬于英文寫作。這里只說文字設計(typography)，雖然高級的文字設計和內容從來密不可分。
簡歷是大多數人實踐文字設計的最常見載體。人人都希望簡歷給人留下好印象，因此或多或少會告誡自己「注意排版」。問題在于具體注意些什麼。以下十條是最基本的規(guī)則，若能做到，你的英文簡歷已經比 90% 的中國人(包括英文系學生)的規(guī)范美觀了。
一、標點符號一律使用半角。
二、逗號、句號、分號、冒號、感歎號、問號和它們后面的`字符之間必須留一個半角空格。
錯 誤：Hi,I'm an entrepreneur.Can you make this app for me for free?Because,you know,I have this brilliant idea but I don't know how to code.
正確：Hi, I'm an entrepreneur. Can you make this app for me for free? Because, you know, I have this brilliant idea but I don't know how to code.
三、逗號、句號、分號、冒號、感歎號、問號和它們前面的字符之間不可留任何空格。
錯誤：I think our current version is too skeuomorphic ,why don't we ,uh ,make it flatter so that it looks more metro-ish?
正確：I think our current version is too skeuomorphic, why don't we, uh, make it flatter so that it looks more metro-ish?
四、將長串數字分開寫，降低辨識的難度。
錯誤：13927396856
正確：139 2739 6856 或 139-2739-6856
五、書名、雜志名、電影名、音樂專輯名、英文中出現(xiàn)的外文(包括拼音，人名除外)用斜體。
錯誤：In 2008, I created this amazing service during my internship at Playboy which is totally LBS avant la lettre.
正確：In 2008, I created this amazing service during my internship at Playboywhich is totally LBS avant la lettre.
六、對于電話區(qū)號應用不同的符號區(qū)分。
錯誤：+86-139-2739-6856
正確：(86) 139 2739 6856 或 (86) 139-2739-6856
七、對于有序列表，應採用「阿拉伯數字 + 英文句點 + 半角空格」的方式。
錯誤：
Three words I hate:
1.Innovation.
2, Leverage.
3 Synergy.
正確：
Three words I hate:
1. Innovation.
2. Leverage.
3. Synergy.
八、括號弧線外要留空格，弧線內不要。
錯誤：Byte Press(née Tangcha ) is the best Chinese-language eBook app. Period.
正確：Byte Press (née Tangcha) is the best Chinese-language eBook app. Period.
但同一個單詞內的括號例外：
錯誤：After the linguistic turn, people are getting addicted to pretentious bracketed words such as ‘(ex) plain (ed)’.
正確：After the linguistic turn, people are getting addicted to pretentious bracketed words such as ‘(ex)plain(ed)’.
九、用彎引號，不要用直(的彎)引號。
錯誤："Bazinga!" 'You are pwned!'
正確：“Bazinga!” ‘You are pwned!’
十、正確使用各種短橫：em dash (—) 是破折號，en dash (–) 用來連接年份、時間，是「到」的意思，hyphen (-) 是連字符。
錯 誤：Glenn Gould (1932-1982) is probably my one and only hero - the person who taught me to think differently well before Steve Jobs.
正 確：Glenn Gould (1932–1982) is probably my one and only hero — the person who taught me to think differently well before Steve Jobs.
注意：
1. 若寫作時用兩個 hyphen (--) 代替破折號，Word 等文書處理軟件會自動將其轉爲 em dash。有鑑于 em dash 輸入不便(Mac 上是 shift + option + -)，這也是英文寫作通用的替代法。
2. 破折號(em dash)兩端可各留一半角空格，亦可不留。此乃英美習慣之不同，無對錯之分。惟請在同一份簡歷中保持統(tǒng)一。
